A Little Birdie Told Me: a bluebird bio podcast

In 2020 and 2021, I produced a podcast series “A Little Birdie Told Me” with the goal of giving a bird’s eye view into bluebird’s history, culture, how we got where we are, #WhyWeFly, and much more. The stories featured bluebirds from across the nest, of all tenures and levels, and dove into a variety of topics.

I’m most proud of the podcast we created to do a deep dive into race and ethnicity issues, how they affect and show up for our birds – in and out of work.

Episode 2: Challenging Our Flock to Fly Higher

HOSTED BY: KEREN SHANI // STORYTELLERS: CRYSTAL BROWN (FORMER BIRD) & REBECCA MURPHY

Following the shift to remote working during COVID19, the Resilience Challenge was born – weekly activities aimed at helping the flock stay calm, stay healthy and stay in formation. But as the events of 2020 unfolded, the outreach incorporated another, loftier goal: expanding our understanding of race and ethnicity issues and giving every bird a chance to be involved in change.

As recoders, everything we touch is open to being reimagined. Especially equity and inclusivity.

This is a story from A Little Birdie Told Me, a bluebird bio podcast celebrating the colorful stories that unite us, inspire us, define us and weave the fabric of our flock.
